More or less prayer?

More recently, I noticed that people keep sending these "Pray for your husband" emails around. Then in church we are encouraged to pray for our pastors. So for Mrs. Pastors does that mean we are expected to pray more or less?

As wives, we must pray for our husbands - yes we must. We cannot afford to have our husbands make wrong decisions. See what happened to some Bible wives...

Mrs. Korah, Mrs. Dathan, and Mrs. Abiram - Num 16:26 - 33 (emphasis mine)
“Quick!” he told the people. “Get away from the tents of these wicked men, and don’t touch anything that belongs to them. If you do, you will be destroyed for their sins.” So all the people stood back from the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram. Then Dathan and Abiram came out and stood at the entrances of their tents, together with their wives and children and little ones. And Moses said, “This is how you will know that the Lord has sent me to do all these things that I have done—for I have not done them on my own. If these men die a natural death, or if nothing unusual happens, then the Lord has not sent me. But if the Lord does something entirely new and the ground opens its mouth and swallows them and all their belongings, and they go down alive into the grave, then you will know that these men have shown contempt for the Lord.” He had hardly finished speaking the words when the ground suddenly split open beneath them. The earth opened its mouth and swallowed the men, along with their households and all their followers who were standing with them, and everything they owned. So they went down alive into the grave, along with all their belongings. The earth closed over them, and they all vanished from among the people of Israel.  (NLT)

Mrs Achan and her family in Jos 7: 24-25 (emphasis mine)- "Then Joshua and all the Israelites took Achan, the silver, the robe, the bar of gold, his sons, daughters, cattle, donkeys, sheep, goats, tent, and everything he had, and they brought them to the valley of Achor. Then Joshua said to Achan, “Why have you brought trouble on us? The Lord will now bring trouble on you.” And all the Israelites stoned Achan and his family and burned their bodies." (NLT)
Although, she was not mentioned specifically, imagine how desolate her life would have been if she survived the rest of her family?

We cannot forget Sis Sapphira who colluded with her husband to lie (Acts 5)...and they both died and left their children, if they had any, as orphans.

Scary? Well, the point is if it ever happened, as we know it did, it can happen again - we just need to be careful that we are not victims. We need to watch and pray...and it's more than whether or not you are praying for your pastor as you rightly should. You need to realise the weight of the ministry upon your husband (& you) and pray more - and even more, not less, for him and yourself of course.
