The Waiting Room

The Waiting Room is not a place that anyone likes to spend time in - well I usually don't. The WAITing room is sometimes filled with Worry-ing, Anticipat-ing, Inquir-ing & Tension. There is no guarantee that people will never be in a WAITing room, however, I know another and better Waiting Room that eases it.

A room I'm safe in - the "Waiting on the Lord" Room. Being &/or "living" in this room is a personal choice. Being in this room does not mean that you will be excluded from challenges - it just guarantees you strength and even wings to take you through and out of any challenge. There are many promises about this in the Bible - I like these 2:

Isaiah 40: 27 - 31 says: "Why would you ever complain, O Jacob, or, whine, Israel, saying, "God has lost track of me. He doesn't care what happens to me"? Don't you know anything? Haven't you been listening? God doesn't come and go. God lasts. He's Creator of all you can see or imagine. He doesn't get tired out, doesn't pause to catch his breath. And he knows everything, inside and out. He energizes those who get tired, gives fresh strength to dropouts. For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall. But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, They run and don't get tired, they walk and don't lag behind. (MSG)

The Lord is my portion or share, says my living being (my inner self); therefore will I hope in Him and wait expectantly for Him. The Lord is good to those who wait hopefully and expectantly for Him, to those who seek Him [inquire of and for Him and require Him by right of necessity and on the authority of God’s word].*

As Mrs. Pastor, helping others through the "WAIT-ing" room can be a challenge in itself especially when you are waiting for the same thing or other things.
This is another area where I run back to God for wisdom and grace to support others through their "Waiting Room" situations even if I remain in mine (long) after they are out of theirs. Indeed, it's an opportunity to guide them into the more profitable "Waiting on the Lord" Room. From personal experience, our lives change - for the better - when we change our "waiting" focus. It always pays to wait for/look up to the Lord because: "Everything good comes from God. Every perfect gift is from him. These good gifts come down from the Father who made all the lights in the sky. But God never changes like the shadows from those lights. He is always the same." (James 1:17 - EtR Version)

May the Lord help us as we support others in their wait - and ours...AMEN!
