Be(come) a Handy-woman

Do you know how to use a hammer? A lot of us believe that it's not a woman's place to know how to use some of those tools and/or to fix things (around the house). I used to think a bit like that although I know how to use basic tools. I started rethinking that stand after reading 2 scriptures - one has to be taken figuratively and the other literally.

Let's start with the scripture to be taken figuratively thought it actually happened:

Judges 4:21 - When Sisera had fallen sound asleep from exhaustion, Jael, Heber’s wife, took a tent peg and walked quietly toward him with a hammer in her hand. She hammered the tent peg through his temples into the ground. So Sisera died.*

Please do not ever use a hammer or anyone. The lesson from what Jael did is that she was "equipped" and knew the appropriate tool to use against an enemy. I also like the fact that the Bible clearly stated that she was a wife - like Mrs. Pastors are.

Like I said earlier, please do not ever use a hammer or anyone except it is the one mentioned in Jeremiah 23:29:

"My words are a powerful fire; they are a hammer that shatters rocks."**

Each of us needs to be "Handywoman."
We need to always be equipped and able to deal with (fix) situations around our home (like Jael) and outside our homes too. The hammer (Word of God) should always be within our reach because it is useful and effective for any & everything... It's not enough to have the "hammer" we have to know how & when to use it too. It's also one tool we should train others to use because every Christian - male or female - should be proficient in using this is "hammer." Equip others like Mrs Aquila.***
