Power-full dressing

Last month, we talked about "Mrs Pastor vs. Power dressing." A futile fuss.
This time, we'll put some more on to that topic (pun intended).

If you remember, we said that "power dressing" is the term used to describe dressing in a particular way to reflect ambition and authority - it's actually an assertive style of dressing designed or believed to improve the wearer's status, influence, or effectiveness in business.* This description is so clear and ties to God's expectation of us as His ambassadors. As we know, the way you dress says a lot about you - remember, man considers people's appearances.** Like Bishop Oyedepo says:
"Dress the way you want to be addressed."

Although it may help, I believe that as Mrs Pastor, you really don't need to be a "power-dresser," - I believe it's better to be what I'd refer to as a "powerful-dresser." To help us, more than once, the Lord tells us about our "dress code" - I like these 3 passages:

Exodus 28: 2 (Expanded Bible - italics mine)
Make holy clothes [garments; vestments] for your brother Aaron to give him honor [glory] and beauty [splendor].
1 Timothy 2:9 - "In the same way, I want women to enhance their appearance with clothing that is modest and sensible, not with elaborate hairstyles, gold, pearls, or expensive clothes. They should make themselves attractive by doing good, which is appropriate for women who claim to honor God."***

1 Peter 3: 3-4 - "Don’t try to make yourselves beautiful on the outside, with stylish hair or by wearing gold jewelry or fine clothes. Instead, make yourselves beautiful on the inside, in your hearts, with the enduring quality of a gentle, peaceful spirit. This type of beauty is very precious in God’s eyes."***

To be clear, having expensive clothes is not a sin...nor is it a priority. Your beauty should start from within and radiate God's power within and with you - that's "powerful-dressing." If the priests' clothes**** were for only 2 reasons - glory and beauty, what do you think God required of their wives' clothing?
If you ask me, I'd say "for glory and beauty too" - so let that be your yardstick.
Like I said last month: It's about elegance not extravagance...

My prayer for all of us:
May He grant us out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner (wo)man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling our innermost beings and personalities].*****
May our inner beauty continue to shine through to God's glory powerfully.
