Avoid the "Triple A" disease

When I first wrote down this topic, it reminded me of the AAA battery - and we know batteries are used to power things. Well this "Triple A" epidemic does the very opposite.

Let's look at a few verses to start - God breaks down His Word to us in amazing ways:

Luke 5: 5-7 - 5-7 Simon said, “Master, we’ve been fishing hard all night and haven’t caught even a minnow. But if you say so, I’ll let out the nets.” It was no sooner said than done - a huge haul of fish, straining the nets past capacity. They waved to their partners in the other boat to come help them. They filled both boats, nearly swamping them with the catch. (MSG)

Breaking down the topic of this post:
Avoiding this disease = Don't be Afraid, Ashamed** or Arrogant***

Can you imagine what would have happened to Simon Peter if he was afraid, ashamed or too arrogant to ask his fellow fishermen for help when he had such a catch? Well, the answer is simple - he would have sunk - fish and all.

We can liken this Ministry. It's sad to see Pastors and/or Mrs Pastors who are too afraid, ashamed, and /or arrogant to reach out to others for help or even for mentoring or coaching. I'm sure Jesus knew that the catch would exceed his "capacity" - and I wonder what He would have done if Peter didn't call for help.

I believe that we an avoid burn-out in Ministry if we not just pace ourselves - which includes saying "No" without feeling guilty but being wise enough to ask others for help or advice. I know from experience that God places people around us to "help" so we must also give people the opportunity to learn as they assist us - I've written about this.**** You CAN'T do everything - all the time.

Too many ministries have sunk because of this "disease" - avoid it!
Whatever you do, don't cause a ship-wreck for yourself...please avoid this like the plague.
