Thank God for them too...

I was just thinking some more about this Ministry Appreciation Month and realized that I had missed (or almost missed) thanking God for a very special set of people. You guessed right - our children.

The Bible is clear that way our children behave (or don't behave) and what they believe are also prerequisites for us being "qualified" to be Pastor and Mrs Pastor so we definitely need them to be "onboard."

Titus 1:6 - they must have a good reputation and be faithful in marriage. Their children must be followers of the Lord and not have a reputation for being wild and disobedient. (CEV)

1 Timothy 3: 4-5 - He must be a good leader of his own family. This means that his children obey him with full respect. If a man does not know how to lead his own family, he will not be able to take care of God’s church. (ERV)

I'm sure a lot of people don't appreciate how challenging it can be to manage this special group of people who don't understand why they have to "behave a particular way" in order to meet "expectations" they don't understand and "please" people that they may not even know. Explaining or even trying to explain it to them is a whole different story. Where do you start?

Bottom-line: Since our children are part of our "qualifications" as Pastor & Mrs Pastor we must always appreciate them - whether or not we're appreciated this month or ever.
